Virginia Cottage is a pretty, double-fronted, carrstone cottage in the heart of Heacham. The cottage is approximately 200 years old; it was modernised by the present owners in 2001 and has recently been redecorated and carpeted. All the internal doors are the original pine doors; the cupboard staircase is the original shape and the kitchen has a beamed ceiling. The accommodation is centrally heated, extremely comfortable, clean, well maintained and offers all that is required for a relaxing, self-catering holiday.

Rear Garden

GARDEN: The garden is to the rear and is mainly laid to lawn, there is a patio and sitting area. A shrubbery partly shrouds a fine, old stone wall and at the bottom of the garden there is a small fence allowing an all round view of the bowling green. The tiny front garden is purely decorative and is walled with a gate, fencing the door from the street.

SITUATION: Virginia Cottage is on Heacham High Street next to the church hall. It is ideally situated for: restaurant, post office, newsagents, estate agents, chip shop and other village stores. There is a pub within easy walking distance, as are the bus stop and cycle shop – bikes available for hire. The nationally renowned “Norfolk Lavender” and grounds are just a short walk away. Heacham is a large coastal village with a thriving community. There are many amenities such as beaches, regular bus service, doctors’ surgery, dentist, schools, chemist, supermarket, recreation ground, pubs, restaurant, hairdressers, and public hall.

TRAVEL INSTRUCTIONS: Heacham is on the A149. Turn into the village opposite “Norfolk Lavender” into Lynn Road. Follow the road; looking to your left, The Wheatsheaf Inn appears, take the first left after that. You are now on Heacham High Street. Travel slowly along here, Virginia cottage is on the right – the last in a row of three before the church hall. The entrance to the drive is on the left of the cottage (just past the “Help the Aged” shop and the telephone box, which are on your right). Turning into the drive is rather a tight corner, but there is plenty of room once you have turned into the drive. It is possible for smaller cars to make a three-point turn in the drive, which may be advisable, as it is easier to come back on to the road forwards rather than reverse out.

Summer Peak (16 July - 27 August), October Half Term (22 - 29 October) and Christmas and New Year Weeks.

Extra Nights added to short breaks will be charged at one seventh of the full week rate. (Applied to nights in excess of 3 for weekend breaks and 4 for midweek breaks)
